Zo werkt het
Van adres naar zonneplan in drie stappen. Elke stap gebruikt open Nederlandse data en is zo eenvoudig mogelijk gehouden.
01
Adres
Appartementen in hetzelfde gebouw delen één resultaat.
02
Dak in kaart

How it works
From an address to a solar plan in three steps. Each step uses open Dutch data and is kept as simple as it can be.
01
Address
You type an address and pick it from the list. The suggestions come from the national address service (PDOK Locatieserver). The chosen address points to a building in the building register (BAG). Its outline is the area that gets analysed.
The analysis belongs to the building, not to the address. Apartments in the same building share one result.
02
Geometry extraction
Roof faces from the aerial photo
We fetch the latest national aerial photo at 8 cm per pixel. An AI model finds the roof faces and what stands on them. The model is Mask2Former, trained on the RID2 roof dataset in M. Ganß's master's thesis. Large buildings are analysed in overlapping 512-pixel tiles, and the tiles vote on every pixel.
Each face gets a direction class: north, east, south, west or flat. Objects on the roof are sorted into two groups: existing solar panels, and everything else (dormers, roof windows, chimneys) as obstacles.
Pitch and direction from the height map
The national height map (AHN4) has a height every 0.5 m. For every face we fit a plane through those heights, ignoring outliers. The plane gives the pitch, the exact compass direction and the true sloped area. Faces that lie in one plane are joined; faces that span two planes are split.
Modules
- Module1.722 × 1.134 m, 430 Wp
- Sloped roofsrows along the eaves, 0.3 m from the edge, 2 cm gaps
- Flat roofseast–west rows at 10°, 0.5 m from the edge, 0.3 m aisles
- Obstacles0.2 m clearance around every object on the roof
- Proposalfaces facing north (pitch over 15°) start switched off
The grid is shifted in small steps to fit as many modules as possible, in portrait or landscape. If you draw faces yourself, the same steps run: the height map measures your shape, then the modules are placed.
03
Economics
Production
Hourly solar output comes from PVGIS, the European Commission's solar database. We use 2023 satellite irradiance and 14 % system losses, computed for each tilt and direction on your roof.
Consumption, hour by hour
- HouseholdDutch standard profile E1A (MFFBAS), scaled to your yearly kWh
- Electric car0.18 kWh per km, charged 10:00–16:00 or 22:00–06:00, at most 11 kW
- Heat pumpfollows the outdoor temperature below 15 °C; efficiency (COP) 3 at 0 °C, plus a share for hot water
Battery
Each hour, solar power first covers the house, then charges the battery, and only the rest goes to the grid. The battery charges and discharges at most half its capacity per hour and keeps 90 % of the energy round trip. The proposed size is the smallest one beyond which an extra kWh adds less than 2 percentage points of self-consumption. If the battery makes the whole system worth less, the proposal is no battery.
Money
Net metering (salderen) ends in 2027, so each kWh counts at its real value. A kWh you use yourself saves the full price. A kWh you export earns the supplier's feed-in rate minus their feed-in charge.
- Electricity price€ 0.30 per kWh, taxes included
- Export€ 0.05 per kWh minus € 0.02 feed-in charge
- Costscheaper per kWp and per kWh for larger systems
- Over time25 years, panels lose 0.5 % per year, 3 % discount rate
